East Lancs LDWA – 3rd Red Rose 50 - Sat/Sun 14th/15th September 2019
Event information - Come and experience the stunning scenery and hospitality of Lancashire on this 50 mile event for walkers and runners via the Western Pennine reservoirs and moors.
Parking - Turton Tower, Chapeltown Road, Edgworth, BL7 0HG. 0.5 mile walk to the start. Access to Jumbles is along an unlit, cobbled road.
Route - Circular route over moorland, tracks and around reservoirs of the West Pennine Moors, passing traditional Lancashire villages and local landmarks. Route description and GPX will be available to download. All entrants must print and bring their own copy of the route description.
Maps - Explorer 287.
Entrants - Over 18s only. Limit 250. Runners welcome.
Registration - From 06.30
Start time - Walkers 08.00, runners 10.00.
Time Limit - 24 hours, all entrants to finish by 08.00 Sunday 15th September.
Equipment - Entrants must carry – a MUG, head torch and spare batteries, survival bag, waterproofs, map/GPS, whistle, compass, first aid kit. Navigational skills essential for night time walking over open moorland.
Safety - All entrants must follow the route description checking in at all checkpoints. All retirees must inform an event official. Event Marshals are authorised to retire anyone failing to comply with the event rules or who in their opinion is unfit to continue or unable to complete within the set time limit. Checkpoint opening and closing times must be adhered to.
Dogs - Sorry, no dogs.
Entry fee - LDWA £30.00. Non LDWA £35.00. No entries OTD. Includes certificate and refreshments throughout.
Refunds - No refunds after 14th July 2019. All refunds will incur a £5.00 admin fee.

Entries - Postal entries to be received by Saturday 7th September 2019. SI entries by Wednesday 11th September 2019.
OTD - Entry will not be available on the day. Pre-booking essential.
SEF - SEF are not accepted, please book by SI or downloading an entry form from the East Lancs website.
Postal Entry - If application via SI entries is not possible, please download an application form and send with payment to - Caroline Tennant, 71 Masonfield, Preston, PR5 8HP, by 7th September. If you do not have an email address please enclose SAE for confirmation. Please make cheques out to ‘LDWA – Red Rose’.
Friday night -There are no facilities at HQ overnight on Friday 13th. Jumbles sailing club will only open at 06.30 on Saturday morning.
Event close - Jumbles Sailing club must be vacated by 10.00 on the Sunday morning.
100 - This event is confirmed as a qualifier for the 2020 - Y 100 Sir Fynwy - Organised by South Wales Group.
