Workhouse Roundabout
Sun 24th Sep 2023
Walk Details:
The route is a (sort of) figure of eight around Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse. Built in 1777 for the better relief and employment of the poor it continued in various guises until WW1 when it housed German prisoners. It is now a museum.
On leaving the c.p we head towards the railway then north towards Northall Green. We pick up parts of Wensum Way towards Beetley & Gressenhall. We then walk part of Nar Valley Way & loop towards East Binley which is likely to be the lunch stop.
We then head south back towards Gressenhall & re-trace our steps for a short distance before deviating off back into Dereham.
