From the start the walk will go up onto the Downs to the west of Downton taking in Wick Down & Coombe Bissett Down with views across Cranborne Chase before dropping into the valley of River Ebbie at Coombe Bassett. After lunch the walk proceeds down the valley passing Odstock village & then follows the Avon Valley Path alongside the River Avon back to Downton
