Meeting at Wilko c.p in Thetford which is situated at Minstergate, Thetford IP24 1BN
River Little Ouse to Brandon, Thetford Forest including Brandon Country Park, High Lodge, Warren Lodge. This walk initially follows the river as far as Brandon, we then head through the town and into Thetford forest. A mix of plantation and deciduous woodland. We will look to use fireroad and single track to experience as much of the forest as possible
General Notes
Lunch can either be early at Brandon c.p or later at High Lodge. Toilets & retail refreshments available at both. Terrain off road apart from tarmac through Brandon town. Breckland soil is sandy free draining which makes for generally easy walking for a lot of the route. Possibly a bit greasy along the river in a couple of spots & one 50 metre marshy area close to the finish which will be muddy. Dogs on leads are welcome
