From Hoylake Station (West Kirby line from Liverpool or free c.p)

Starting at Hoylake Station, it includes a stretch on Wirral’s sandstone ridge with views to Snowdonia and the Great Orme. We visit the Dungeon, decked out with bluebells. It has an interesting history of the smuggling trade. The outward journey continues along an old railway line – the Wirral Way. The return journey will mostly be along the shore of the River Dee before going over to Wirral’s ‘Jewel in the Crown’ – Hilbre Island, where we will be able to see the seals hauled out on Hilbre bank and the sea pinks should be coming into bloom.
The final section of the walk is along the edge of Royal Liverpool GC which will host The Open in 2023.
For those who enjoy an end of walk cuppa there is an excellent teashop 400 yds from Hoylake Station – ‘Nine Leaves’.
