This is the third of three John Merrill challenge walks to Cambridgeshire cathedrals, the first one in March 2022 ending up in Peterborough, with the second only a few months ago, in January, which culminated in Ely, whilst this truly fascinating and diverse route takes in the village of Sawston, the Mile Road Greenway, part of a Roman road that includes Copley Hill tumulus and runs close to Wandlebury, and then through the maze of Cambridge hospitals and medical institutions to reach Trumpington, on to Grantchester, before following the River Cam and all it has to offer to arrive amongst the architectural and university splendour in the centre of Cambridge to finish at the glorious King's College Chapel, a total distance of 16 miles, with a further mile and a half required in order to reach Cambridge railway station, where a regular rail service will return us the short distance (cost is around GBP 5.00 - cheaper with a railcard) to Whittlesford, from where the first (or last) mile will be taken on foot back to the village green, but not before the beautiful Duxford Chapel has been inspected
