Starting from The Corn Exchange, 1 Market Place, Leicester. Finishing at Loughborough Central Station

A linear walk from Leicester City Centre, mostly following riverside walks and canal towpath. Calling at pubs in Mount Sorrell and Barrow The route finishes at the railway station in Loughborough. The route follows routes identified in the "Slowways" network

General Notes
Expect mud at this time of year. Return trains to Leicester are regular, buses also available. Stops in pubs will be no longer than 30 minutes, so if intending buying food, best to choose bar snacks or check how long the food will take before ordering. Otherwise bring a picnic lunch. The walk is anticipated to take around 6 hours but be prepared for longer. Any dogs must be on a short lead throughout, and owners need to check at the pubs whether they are allowed in
