About Us We are a friendly bunch who gather at least twice a month to tramp over the moors, dawdle in the dales or even cruise the coast from time to time. Our emphasis is on sociable walks and our enterprising walk leaders aim to cover the diversity of Yorkshire's scenery often using little-known paths. Why not give us a try. Anyone from outside the LDWA is very welcome to join us on any of our social walks that might take your fancy, but if you like us enough to come out with us regularly, you will need to join the LDWA. If you fancy having a go at leading a walk, we'd love to hear from you. Contact the Walks Secretary Lynn Hathaway. LDWA 50th Anniversary Celebration Chop Gate Village Hall - Saturday 18 June There will be a “Walk and Tea Party” event at Chop Gate Village Hall on Saturday 18th June to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the LDWA being founded. All Primary and Associate members of North Yorkshire LDWA Group are welcome! The event will consist of 4 different walks that add up to 50 miles in total:
with tea and refreshments in the village hall before and after the walks for anyone participating in walks, or refreshments from 1pm onwards for anyone who would like to just come along and join us for a social get together. An opportunity to renew old acquaintances perhaps! Further details will follow but to help us with planning refreshments could you please let Lynn Hathaway know if you would like to attend either one of the walks, or the social get together.
