Hello everyone
Well, as 2016 runs out of steam, and the working week seems to be a lengthening tunnel with the Christmas break still glimmering just beyond reach at the end of it, what better time to start planning in a few winter walks to finish off the year.
So even if the rest of the world may be winding down, LDWA London certainly hasn't run out of steam and this week, on Saturday, Ian will be leading us on a fabulous linear hike down the Darent Valley, from Dartford to Sevenoaks. This is the route of the Darent Valley Path - and if you want to learn a bit more about this fascinating part of the world, you can read all about it on the LDWA website, or by clicking here.
So - grab your boots, and head off to Dartford Station to meet Ian at 9:15 on Saturday morning for this most festive of excursions.

I know everyone's diaries tends to get a bit clogged up at this time of year, so why not do a bit of advance planning now, and block out the following up-coming LDWA events and reserve them as "Christmas shopping-free dates":
Sat 24 Dec (yes that's Christmas Eve!): "Slade Green not Sleigh Green" - a 23 mile walk along the eastern reaches of the Thames with Neil - and there's a Wetherspoons thrown in too!. Click here for more details
Sun 1 Jan (yes that's New Year's Day!): "2017 Hangover Buster - Monopoly Walk ('Vine St Revisited')" - a gentle 13 mile start to the new year with Susanne, featuring a competition, no less! Click here for more details
So - that's it for now, and keep your eyes on the skies in search of a flake of snow that might suggest that for once a White Christmas is on its way.
Otherwise, have a great week and keep walking!
Adam
