Aim: to further the interests of those who enjoy long distance walking

Welcome to the Long Distance Walkers’ Association!

The LDWA is an Association of people with the common interest of walking long distances in rural, mountainous or moorland areas. By joining the LDWA, you will meet other like-minded long distance walkers and gain access to information on walking events and long distance walking routes all over the UK.

Ways to get involved:

  • Challenge Walks – we have long distance challenge events every weekend in locations all across the UK. Many of these welcome joggers and runners and offer shorter options.
  • Local walks: fancy being taken for a walk? Look here for a Group Walk near you.
  • Strider – the LDWA magazine, is published three times a year and is full of useful articles as well as details of long distance walking events, group walks and long distance paths' news
  • Local Groups: find your local walking group, for social walks, weekends away and other local activities across Britain
  • Long Distance Paths - information and advice, plus and maps and books online, for National Trails and other long distance paths from our one-stop shop for trailwalkers
  • Hillwalkers’ Register – record your peakbagging progress
  • LDWA Merchandise – buy your outdoor walking gear!
