FINAL DETAILS
EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NO.

Welcome to the THREE RINGS OF SHAP – we hope you enjoy your selected walk.
The relevant route descriptions are available below. Please let me know if you have any difficulty downloading these or have any other problems or queries.
GPX data is also available for those who wish to use it.
Registration is from 07.00 - 08.00 in Shap Memorial Hall (NY 564 151), which is also the Start/Finish point. Please park as directed.
START TIMES : Walkers & Runners 08.00 – 09.00
There will be a mass start at 08.00 for those who wish to start at this time.
(N.B. There are six stiles in the first kilometre of Ring 1)
Please note your checkpoint opening and closing times and arrange your start time appropriately for the speed at which you expect to walk or run.
We are using an electronic timing and results system from Sportident.
All entrants will be issued with a wristband and Si-Card – please take care of this as they cost £25 to replace.
It is ESSENTIAL that the card is ‘dibbed’ in the correct stations provided on starting, finishing or retiring and at all intermediate checkpoints.
This is important both for your own safety and to provide a record of your progress.
Don’t forget to bring MUG, COMPASS, WHISTLE, TORCH, WATERPROOFS and MAPS (Explorer OL5 & OL19, Landranger 90 & 91 or suitable alternative - N.B. OL5 or LR90 if doing Ring 1 only)
There may be spot checks and extra Checkpoints along the route so please do not take shortcuts.
It would be appreciated if supporters would not visit checkpoints on Rings 1 and 3 as car parking is virtually non-existent.
If you wish to reccy the route before the Event please find an alternative route avoiding any Private areas where permission is given for the Event Day only.
Sports massage will be available both before and after the Event for those who wish to avail themselves of this facility.
The likely cost is £5 for a ten minute session.
Please note that United Utilities are carrying out major works at Truss Gap.
There is no problem accessing the Checkpoint by their temporary bridge but be aware of any construction traffic and take extra care in this area.
