Providing a variety of landscapes, including the flood plain and wooded valley of the River Tone and the Quantock Hills AONB, Appley, Waterrow, Wiveliscombe, Lydiard St Lawrence and Kingston St Mary are visited along the way. There are industrial remains, historic houses and gardens on or near to the route. It is coincident with the Somerset section of the Grand Western Canal walk between Greenham and Taunton.
