Martlet on green plaques or wooden signposts (partial)Sussex Border Path

E Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey, W Sussex

220 km / 137 miles
The route follows paths approximating to the Sussex border with Hampshire, Surrey and Kent, first making a 9-mile circuit around Thorney Island and then crossing the South Downs to South Harting and Liphook before heading to Gospel Green, Rudgwick, Gatwick and East Grinstead.

Here the waymarked Mid Sussex Link (33 miles and on OS mapping) branches off south along the line of the administrative boundary between East and West Sussex. The main Border Path heads through Ashurst, Wadhurst and Bodiam.

Sussex Ramblers have waymarked the path and their dedicated website includes detailed route descriptions for this and the Mid Sussex Link in both directions.
