Bow and arrow, green on whiteRobin Hood Way

Nottinghamshire

172 km / 107 miles
The Way features areas of Nottingham associated with the legendary figure of Robin Hood and his exploits, crossing lowland farmland and heathland, and visiting the great houses and parks of the Dukeries and forests, including Sherwood Forest.

UPDATE AUGUST 2020 - There is a problem on the section of this walk between Edwinstone and Rufford from the bridge at grid reference SK 6171 6601 to grid reference SK 6188 6595. There is no suitable alternative and any indication of closure that existed at the footbridge is no longer in existence. The Local Authority have advised that this is a long term problem but have recently carried out a ground assessment across the wider area and a full topographical survey is to follow to enable an initial decision on what needs to be done, if it is possible and provide the basis for a feasibility study and cost.
JANUARY 2024 - We are advised that a new footbridge was installed at SK 6171 6601 in 2023.
