This the first National Trail in Wales lies mainly within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
With the exception of the Milford Haven Waterway and three MOD establishments the route of this challenging National Trail follows the coastline around the county of Pembrokeshire. Apart from the resort of Tenby only small settlements and relatively few obtrusive holiday developments are encountered. The scenery provides an ever-changing contrast between the softer sedimentary rocks of the south coast, with its fine beaches, and the more resistant rocks of the rugged northern coast. The area is rich in prehistoric remains and is noted for its sea birds and seals.
The LDWA National Trails Register offers certificates for completers of several British National Trails.
