Evenlode

Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire

The River Evenlode rises in the heart of the Cotswolds and flows for thirty miles or so towards its confluence with the Thames just above Oxford. In doing so it passes through country rich in history and literary associations. Gordon Ottewell describes fifteen walks along public rights of way in the Evenlode Valley. The itineraries are prefaced by a full description of the background of each location, forming a valuable book for both the armchair and active walker.

The walks may be connected to form a long distance path of some 40 miles between Bourton on the Hill and Cassington. Some of the individual walks are not directly connected, however there are numerous paths in the area which can be chosen to link them together.
