Dylan Thomas Trail

Ceredigion

40 km / 25 miles
A walking route through some of Dylan's favourite parts of Ceredigion and the places that inspired some of his best writing, including Under Milk Wood. Starting at Llanon the Trail goes through Red Kite country, through oak woods and hidden valleys to Tal-sarn. Here the Trail turns towards the sea, following the Aeron valley to Aberaeron, where it turns south along the heritage coast of Cardigan Bay to finish at Newquay, thought to be the inspiration for the town of Llareggub in Under Milk Wood. The guidebook also contains two short walk extensions - 'Eli Jenkins' Pub Walk' (7 miles), 'Dylan and Caitlin's' Pub Walk (4 miles) - and other short diversions.

The 100th anniversary of Thomas's birth was in 2014.
