Red heart on white disc with nameCateran Trail

Angus, Perth and Kinross

103 km / 64 miles
Basically a circular route based on Bridge of Cally, but including a spur to and from Blairgowrie, it follows in the footsteps of the cattle rustlers - caterans - through the Perthshire Glens passing close to Kirkmichael, Enochdhu, Spittal of Glenshee, Cray and Alyth. Use is made of very minor roads, tracks and paths and it includes some high level walking. The route has been improved with an 8-mile off-road section replacing the road slog from Dalnaglar to Kirkton of Glenisla and covered in an upgrade card for the guidebook. The Trail can be completed comfortably within 4-5 days, and there are options to link with the Rob Roy Way, and for a weekend Minitrail.
