Corby will celebrate the unveiling of its new long-distance circular footpath with a three-day walking festival in May 2009.
The 50km/31-mile Around Corby route has an optional extension of 14 miles and is the brainchild of local Ramblers member Mel Jarvis.
The Around Corby route covers villages such as Gretton, Rockingham, Stanion and Brigstock which offer breathtaking views and numerous public houses to stop off at along the way.
Mr Jarvis has written a book, also entitled Around Corby, which will be published in 2009, this also details nearly 30 circular walks linked to the main route.
