Welcome to the website of the North Yorkshire group of the LDWA. We are a friendly bunch who gather twice a month to tramp over the moors, dawdle in the dales or even cruise the coast from time to time. Our emphasis is on sociable walks and our enterprising walk leaders aim to cover the diversity of Yorkshire’s scenery often using little-known paths Why not give us a try?
Anyone from outside the LDWA is very welcome to join us on any of our social walks that might take your fancy, but if you like us enough to come out with us regularly, you will need to join the LDWA - certainly one of the best things I ever did!
Currently the group is having a rest from organising its main challenge event - the Kilburn Kanter - however we may well bring it out of retirement sometime in the not too distant future - watch this space.
And if you fancy having a go at leading a walk, I would love to hear from you - don’t be shy – I’m new to this too! Drop me a line or call me at the contact details shown under Committee Members. And if you can spare the time, do come along to the Group’s next meeting on Tuesday 8th September - we’re not that scary really!
