Welcome to the Long Distance Walkers Association on-line shopping service. Everything that is listed on our download order form or Strider insert mail order form is available here, in the web shop. All you have to do is select your items and send the completed order to Merchandise@ldwa.org.uk. It is secure. It is easy. It is fast. It is also open to both members and non-members alike. Dispatch of items takes place within 28 days, but usually much sooner, generally 7-14 days, depending on the time of year, in respect of the LDWA being a voluntary run organisation. All items come with a no quibble, full money-back or exchange guarantee and prices include 2nd class postage. Every type of clothing product in the range has been carefully selected for its practicality, quality, good value and natural link to long distance walking. It also comes with the LDWA walking figure logo embroidered, as standard, and once again within the advertised price. The acquisition of LDWA merchandise by you, the people at large, helps the LDWA funds, promotes our cause and, all being well, gives many years of hard wear and pleasure from the item or items kindly purchased. Thank you very much indeed for showing an interest in LDWA merchandise.
These include The Long Distance Paths Chart that identifies many of those trails that feature in the book, Out On Your Feet by Julie Welch, the current editor of Strider magazine and a highly experienced professional journalist and writer, and Guidelines For Events, which contains everything a wannabe challenge event walk organiser needs to know in order to put on a successful, safe and scintillating experience. Strider back-issues are readily available, from number 26 through to the current edition, whilst magazine storage, in the form of long standing product the Strider binder, can also be acquired, along with peel-off date packs, which are useful for assisting in the collating of 1972-1997 issues. New publications, obviously, will appear as and when they come out.
LDWA offers a diverse range of garments, which cater for all aspects of walking and social occasions. Jackets, wind tops, fleece, rugby shirts, T-shirts, polo-shirts, sweatshirts, hats for all seasons and occasions, gloves and specialist thermal sports underwear, including thermal socks, outlines the list.
Over the years, LDWA has promoted a vast amount of ad-hoc items, such as badge and certificate protectors, bum bags, multi-tools, stained glass, torches, tote bags, umbrellas, wallets, watches, and many, many more. These days, we keep it simple, with a versatile, high quality holdall, a small foldaway rucksack, and plastic footwear covers. Something new and a bit different is always possible, though, as it has been in the past, so please continue to watch this space.
For those with a penchant for proudly displaying the logo of their chosen leisure institution, the LDWA has a series of badges, in sew-on, stick-on and pin formats. There is also a key ring, which features the walking person logo on one side, the LDWA aim on the reverse.
