Supplier Info

We are an Organisation seeking individual and corporate members who share our aspirations for the future of the Pentland Hills.

To Robert Louis Stevenson the Pentland Hills were 'The Hills of Home'. More recently they were described by Cameron McNeish as Edinburgh's lungs. Today they provide outdoor recreation for over 600,000 people every year. We wish to protect and enhance that facility for both the immediate and long term future.

Each year we organise a programme of walks and two talks. The walks are of varying length and difficulty. Some have an educational theme, e.g. birds, social history, fungi etc, while others are simply to enjoy the countryside and the company of like-minded walkers. The talks are on topics related to the Pentlands, i.e. biodiversity, history etc. We also undertake environmental projects. In recent years we have replaced a footbridge, undertaken a major way marking project, restored a wildlife pond, replaced a bird hide, planted trees, and put up bird boxes.

We enjoy the support of the Pentland Hills Regional Park and, wherever possible, we will work with them to achieve our objectives. Our area of interest, however, extends well beyond the Park's boundaries.
