This attractive little book takes walkers on short circular walks to ten Lake District locations closely associated with William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter.

The Lake District has a long history of literary residents: some native to the area and some ‘off-comers’ who moved here in later life. Many of them also explored the area on foot and were bewitched by its timeless beauty.

William Wordsworth was a native of the Lakes, born at Cockermouth. Beatrix Potter, in contrast, came to live here inspired by memories of happy childhood holidays.

Both wrote prolifically and their names and works still draw thousands of people to the Lake District each year to see where they lived and the places and landscapes they loved. Now you can visit them, too.
