Walking the North Tyne explores the northern branch of the river from Hexham to the source near Deadwater in the Kielder Forest area, including a walk alongside Kielder Water, a total of 76km/47.5 miles. The Lakeside Way is a current Forestry Commission project to encircle Kielder Water, with a 15 mile (24 km) stretch from the south corner of Kielder Dam to Kielder Village open and information online.
