Coat of arms and name in blueSolihull Way

32 km / 20 miles

Warks, W Midlands
From south to north down the eastern side of the Birmingham conurbation the route uses farmland, open spaces and parks as much as possible and the longest variation of this route by-passes the city centre. (Less rural alternatives reduce the total distance to a minimum of 17 miles.)

The waymarked Trans Solihull Link (15 miles) is crossed near the southern end (see North Worcestershire Path/Heart of England Way). At Elmdon Heath part of the Grand Union Canal Walk is in common.

At Meriden Park, towards the north end of the route, the River Cole is crossed and the walks of the Cole Valley. These comprise the Cole Valley Way (7 miles) with a described link to the waymarked Millstream Way (3 miles between Yardley Wood and Small Heath) forming a route along the river west from the M6 to Slade Lane in Birmingham.

Publication now out of print and route not supported. Marked on Explorer maps.

A route description is available from website below for part of the Solihull Way route to Marston Green. North from Marston Green, from Meriden Park, part of the Colebridge Way uses the same routing, with the Hatchford Brook linking these two described sections.
