Llangollen Round

Denbighshire

51 km / 32 miles
The Llangollen Round is a new (2011) circular route visiting every summit around the picturesque Vale of Llangollen. It was devised to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, to whom all proceeds are donated. Terrain includes open heather moorland, limestone grassland, deciduous and coniferous woodland, an ancient green road, and Telford's World Heritage status Aqueduct. The views range from Snowdonia to the mountains of mid-Wales and the distant Shropshire Hills, while never far from sight is the town of Llangollen in the valley below.

JANUARY 2024: Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, east of LLangollen, will be closed between 2nd January and 15th March 2024 for essential maintenance work. During this period there will be no access to either the towpath or the canal itself. The LLangollen Round will need to use the B5434 alongside the aqueduct as an alternative.
UPDATE March 8th 2024:The Canal & River Trust say that the aqueduct (and towpath) will re-open on schedule by March 15th 2024.
