E-Route 9 UK Section Dover to Plymouth

On the continent the E9 runs between Cape St Vincent ( Portugal) and the Estonia/Russian border. From SW France the route goes via Brest, Cherbourg, Le Havre, Calais, Ostend, Rotterdam, Wilhelmshavn, Hamburg, Rostock, Gdansk, and through Estonia to the Russian Border.
The route of the E9 in the UK runs between Plymouth and Dover and thus allows users to link up with a number of French ferry ports. There are ferry crossings between Plymouth and Roscoff; Weymouth and St Malo; Poole and Cherbourg and St Malo; Portsmouth and Cherbourg, Le Havre, Oistreham and St Malo; Newhaven and Dieppe, Folkestone and Dieppe and between Dover and Calais and Ostend, where it also links up with the E2.

Sir John Johnson (LDWA President) and Jan Havelka (ERA President) officially opened this latest E-route in the UK on 21st September 2002 at Poole, Dorset.
