Chiltern Heritage Trail

Buckinghamshire

82 km / 51 miles
The Heritage Trail offers walking and cycling options. The walking trail links the towns and parishes of Chiltern District and goes through scenic country and picturesque villages including Jordans, Chalfont St Giles and the Lee. Popular visitor attractions include the Chiltern Open Air Museum, Chenies Manor House and John Milton's Cottage. It is partly coincident with the South Bucks Way and meets the Chiltern Way at Chalfont St Giles. For the 25 mile cycling route, guides in three parts are available from the second weblink below.

A neglected millennium project until recently, the trail has been adopted by the Chiltern Society and a completely new publication is released in 2016, listed below. This divides the trail into eight stages, most accessible by public transport. The project has been coordinated by Andrew Clark. Volunteers have updated the route description, adding more places of interest, and replacing lost or damaged signs.
