The Trail was developed primarily for horse riders and crosses some rugged terrain. The River Ceiriog is crossed at Pandy and Castle Mill. It is coincident with Offa's Dyke Path National Trail in the Bronygarth/Craignant area. The waymarked Upper Ceiriog Trail (14 miles and on OS mapping), takes in the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog to provide a loop to the west of Pandy.
