The Canterbury Middle Ring includes some of the quaint little towns around the city. The cathedral spires can still be seen across the fields, making this an immersive, simple and friendly trail with plenty of options for lunch and rest-stops. The city's greenery is on display here, as are some lesser known pieces of Canterbury's history. It passes historic sites including St Martin's Priory, England's oldest continuously used church, a Norman Leper Hospital and the Black Prince's Well and the Canterbury to Whitstable Railway, the first steam-driven railway.
