For much of the route, the Way follows the well-drained floodbanks of the rivers Cam and Great Ouse. At King's Lynn, there is a ferry link with the Peter Scott Walk (10 miles and on OS mapping but no publication) along the western edge of the Great River Ouse to the Wash and along the sea wall to the outfall of the River Nene.
