The Causeway Coast Way passes sandy beaches, rocky bays, high cliffs, resorts and villages, offering a great variety of coastal scenery within the Causeway Coast AONB. Sites of interest include the ruins of Dunluce and Dunseverick Castles, the exposed Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the Giant's Causeway World Heritage Site. Cooling volcanic lava formed the remarkable Giant's Causeway's 40,000 basalt columns 60 million years ago.

Check tide times to avoid walking past White Park Bay at high tide otherwise the A2 road must be followed from Dunseverick village to Ballintoy.

The route beyond Ballintoy has been diverted via Glenstaughey Road to avoid a busy road section. It is hoped that an off-road coastal path can be developed in future.

The path connects with the Moyle Way at Ballycastle.
