A low-level route around Greater York, the Way passes the sites of the former Healaugh Priory and the Battle of Marston Moor, Moor Monkton - the confluence of the Rivers Nidd and Ouse, and the Moorlands Nature Reserve. Many villages are incorporated into the walk, with 24 pubs providing ample opportunities for refreshment. It is coincident in part with the Ainsty Bounds Walk.
