Stromness - a small friendly town where both the hostel and house are centrally situated in Victoria Street near shops, pubs, restaurants, Post Office, bank.museum and the Pier Art Centre. An ideal base for the tourist, as it is also within walking/cycling distance, to see the wildlife, high cliffs, beaches, beautiful sunsets, the historical sites of Skara Brae, Standing Stones, the Palace and Brough of Birsay etc., and for fishing, golfing, bowling, surfing, to dive on the many wrecks in Scapa Flow, or (for the beginner) to book a Scuba-dive course. Free internet access available. Hostel - very popular with all ages, is praised for its cosy well equipped kitchen, seating all guests at one sitting.
