Amazing day, amazing route with the Lake District on its best behaviour! Eileen Knopfel was a lovely lady and a great walker so it was good to have a toughie in her memory. I have some issues with the distance - probably nearer 20 miles than 23.5 - but certainly none with the ascent. It was unusual, to say the least, to be able to go round the route in nothing but shirt and shorts in April not to mention indulging my strange hobby and having a dip in the River Derwent near the end!
Friendly CP staff basking in the sunshine, fantastic views and a mixture of old and new friends met en route made this a day to remember for a long time.
