Just to put the record straight, as I used the 'volunteers' phrase in the companion thread to this, I have nothing to do with the running of this website. However, I stand by what I said. Perhaps those who have some problem with this website should actually get involved rather than whinging. Ask what is needed to help. I know you've volunteered help via this forum, and some feedback would be polite. Maybe someone is trying to fix things your way. I suspect it's tied down by some contract between the LDWA and the website designer and can't be changed. Maybe it would be good to remember how the website was before this year. Personally I've given the LDWA a lot in the last 15 years, and now I'm grateful to other walk organisers that I can still get something back. Whatever is organised, I am grateful for the opportunity to take part. This website is good enough to support our walking, which is what it's all about...

If I recive an E Mail from any one I will answer it as soon as possable, If I am away or busy it may take a few weeks but they will get an answer, as for posts on this site I think there are a lot of people "lurking" maybe waiting to see how it develops. Mind you I think that old chestnut "we are all volunters" is being used overmuch by some people to hide inefficency.

I really didn't want to post this on the open forum, but it appears to be the only option. This sub-forum asks for discussions about website development, but from my experience it seems like a non starter. It is almost impossible to communicate at all with anybody on the staff, let alone move the website forwards. Our experience over the past months indicates the current level of interest:- last year, at the request of the LDWA, we spent a long time getting the Myrddyn Phillips hill lists online, only to find that the link to our website hosting the results had been removed from the Links page. I reported this by email and actually got a reply on 18th. March promising to reinstate it. That is the last I heard of it. I sent another follow up email on 2nd. August, still no reply or action either after 6 months. This is, or should be, a 5-minute job, so what chance is there of getting anything significant done for the development of the site?. At one time I was thinking about offering to participate in the site development myself, but enthusiasm has all but died, and the almost total lack of email replies is particularly disappointing. As for attracting new members, do they get a reply when they email the LDWA for information?.

Regards
