The best and worst of the Lake District last weekend. Fabulous weather on Friday and Sunday with views to die for. Blown and washed off the fells on Saturday, 2.5 inches of rain in the day and 60mph gusts. An intrepid group made it to the top of Coniston Old Man and down safely via Goat's Water to spend the rest of the day drinking tea and reading newspapers in Coniston YH. We all went back up the Old Man on Sunday to join Rob Woodall in celebrating his visiting all the English trig points.
Many thanks to Andrew West, Alan Castle & Bob Mitchell for organising the walks and accommodation.
