A very good book to take with you, if you can find it in paperback, is Guy Stagg's 2018 'The Cross Way', his story of his solo walk from Canterbury to Jerusalem using the Via Frangicena, and through (among others) Albania, Greece, Cyprus, and Lebanon. Very much more than a walk account, more a story of pilgrimage and recovery.

It's finally here!
Flight leaves this Friday May 3rd. I'll start walking from Iona on May 6th, to St Andrew's then towards Canterbury on the Pennine Way and E2 trails to pick up the Via Francigena to Rome and finally to Jerusalem. If you see a Canadian on the Trail with a bright orange hockey stick as a walking staff, stop and say hello!
Cheers!
