John I believe it is the same with a lot of sports and clubs in general. A small percentage doing great work. I worry that more events will go this way if we don't get members active and stepping up to make stuff happen

Yes, sad but we couldn't find anyone willing to take on the tremendous amount of work needed to arrange the Woldsman, with local farmers, checkpoint arrangements etc. Unfortunately, it's mostly a very small handful of people who will commit to the necessary overall responsibility of Events. We have lots of good folk who will help on the day on all our Events and the decision wasn't easy and was taken over a protracted period.

Sadly, we don't get input to our regular meetings - even the AGM attendance is probably 99% Committee members with other members you could count on the fingers of a mutilated hand. Planning is therefore difficult.

Thanks David for letting me know the fate of the Woldsman.

I'm afraid to say, I believe we have seen our last Woldsman

Big shame. Is it off forever, or having a break?

I've been asked by a number of members if the Woldsman is taking place in 2017.

I have now had it confirmed that it is NOT taking place.
