I have decided to walk from my home in Surrey near the North Downs Way to my parents in Plymouth using long distance paths where possible. No particular hurry but 2-3 weeks would be good. I have most of the route planned. From Winchester to c.Yeovil I thought I'd just stay on the Monarch's Way. Never done it but it is likely to be well signposted and presumably scenic. But it curves a fair bit to the north. Views on me taking a more direct but bittier route between the two towns? And maybe I should be coming in south of Yeovil anyway...grateful for any thoughts.
