A grand day out with fine weather. This really is a beautiful route, taking us past stately homes, through woodlands, meadows and fields, and even through a churchyard where pealing bells were calling the faithful to prayer as the mud splattered heathens trudged by. Fortunately most of Friday’s rain had soaked in, so even the obligatory ploughed fields weren’t too heavy going. Then up onto the North Downs Way with some of the views in Southern England. The excellent food and smiling faces at the checkpoints helped us along, as always.

Thanks to the organisers and marshals of Kent Group.
