Stages 1 to 3 of the Eastern Loop - Burnley (GR 836 321) to Barrowford (GR 859 397). 14 miles 6 hours walking 1,633ft ascent.

The route exits Burnley via the Weavers Triangle and on to Gawthorpe Hall and Padiham. It then picks up the Pendle Way to Higham and then Newchurch in Pendle. From here it departs from the Pendle Way and heads to Barley via Clarrion House and Thorneyholme. The final part of the day is a short walk into Barrowford.
Meet in Burnley at the Manchester New Road Railway station BB11 1JZ. (GR 836 321) at 9.30am. Street parking is available nearby on Spring Hill Road and Piccadilly Road more parking on the latter. Consider taking the train directly there. Return to Burnley via bus service 65 45 minute journey leaving at 16.01pm. However, we will not rush to catch this bus and if we are too late then we can walk an extra 1.5 mile walk to Colne (Golden Ball bus stop) to catch bus service M3/4/5 frequent service
