The route is a challenging walk but suitable for dogs. The total distance is approx. 22 miles. However, as we will be on ferries for some of it, the actual walking distance is approx. 15 miles. Walkers should bring wet/cold weather clothing. Also money for ferries. (Hawkshead ferry prices usually 50p to £1, the Ambleside ferry will be more expensive. Walkers should check the website nearer the time for ferry prices.) Parking at Green Gate is free but better to arrive early. There is additional roadside parking in Troutbeck
