The competition night hike that visits pretty much every hill in the area this year celebrates its 50th birthday. The toughest non-stop cross country navigation exercise in and around North Oxfordshire, South Warwickshire and South Northamptonshire

General Notes
This demanding hike – which is open to all - attracts teams of three from around the world. The competition is divided into a 50ml and 30ml (junior) course, with a Taster Hike of 15 miles, for anyone who simply wishes to get a feel for the competition. The 50 mile route is to be completed within 24hr. In the very limited daylight of early Dec that means much of the hike will be done in the dark. Neither course is a soft touch, organisers promise, and drop-out rates have been as high as 80% in the past - even among teams of service personnel. The course is revealed to competitors on the morning of the event and needs to be plotted on an OS map - no GPS allowed. A number of awards are given, which includes the fastest team, oldest team, and fastest mixed team
