Start: Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park, South Woodham Ferrers, CM3 5WP

Starting at South Woodham Ferrers, competitors follow the northern bank of River Crouch until it meets the North Sea, before turning left through the remote Dengie Marshes and onwards to Bradwell-on-Sea at the mouth of the Blackwater Estuary. An overnight stop at Steeple will offer brief respite until the morning when the participants will cover the remaining 37 miles through the historical riverside town of Maldon then towards Tollesbury. The final sting in the tail of the challenge is the 5 miles loop around the edge of RSPB Old Hall Marshes nature reserve, finishing at the hamlet of Salcott-cum-Virley

38.1 miles Saturday. 37.5 miles Sunday. Choose either day or both days. New for 2018 is duo entry (two person team performing one day each) and a relay (three person team taking on the full course). Entry limit 250. No SEF

£100 both days, £80 one day, £150 duo, £175 relay incl full medical and marshal support, transport of equipment and food to any Cp during the weekend, food and drinks at Cps, transport back to the start from the finish, and much, much more. Optional overnight camping at Steeple on Sat £8. Optional evening meal on Sat £12 and breakfast on Sun £7
