From The Jumbles Sailing Club, Horrobin Lane, Edgworth, Bolton, BL7 OHG

Moorland, tracks & reservoirs of the West Pennine Moors. You will go over Winter Hill dropping into Rivington village where the route splits. The 50ml goes through the Lancashire villages of Brinscall, Hoghton, Mellor Brook, Feniscliffe, Witton Park, Darwen Tower to Entwistle reservoir where the 28ml route rejoins. Then Holcombe Moor before finishing back at the Sailing Club. The route is circular for both distances. Navigational skills are essential for night time walking over open moorland

General Notes
Main parking at Turton Tower Car Park, Chapeltown Rd, Edgworth, Bolton, BL7 OHG, 5 mins walk to start. We welcome walkers & runners to follow some of the route of the Red Rose 100. Come & experience the stunning scenery & hospitality of Lancashire. Essential items, map Exp 287 West Pennine Moors/ GPS, spare batteries, whistle, compass, mug, survival bag, waterproofs, head torch & first aid kit. Route description & notes, Cp info & GPX routes available from East Lancs LDWA website. Excellent facilities at the sailing club, large changing rooms with showers, bar available also. Tea & toast at the start, eight Cps for 50ml route, mainly in village halls with refreshments available at them all. Five Cps for 28ml route refreshments at all. Hotpot & breakfast at finish.
