Meet Alton station (direct train 07.53 Waterloo or take the 08.00 and change Woking to arrive same time)

A circular route exploring the wooded hillsides and hamlets of quiet Hampshire.
The route is via Shalden, Bentworth, Bradley. Return via Shalden and Anstey and aim to get the 17.15 train. A shorter route in the afternoon is possible for anyone who needs an earlier finish.

General Notes
Car drivers can park at Alton station, there is a large parking area and it is £2 for the day; alternatively a little exploration in nearby side streets would provide free parking. Lunch after 12 miles at the Fur and Feathers pub in Herriard or bring a picnic
