So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye ... to Lesley!
From Lesley Bellis:
"This announcement may come as a surprise to some of you but after much thought and consideration over the last 6 months I have decided to move back up to the frozen north. I could say it’s because it’s too warm for me down here, hence I am always in a t-shirt, but several incentives have come together to persuade me to move, not least that I became very homesick for Northumberland when up there for this year's 100. I left Newcastle 46 years ago and have lived all over Europe and the UK and never gave returning to the North East a second thought and yet here I am surrounded by boxes just waiting for a date which I expect will be before Christmas.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being your Chair for 2 years and it has been an honour to be involved with such a motivated and positive group, I couldn't wish for better support for checkpoints and of course the Pewsey Downsaround which I am sure you will all continue to give your best to enable our flagship event to continue to flourish.
I intend to still manage our checkpoint at Trellech for the Y 100 Sir Fynwy next year and hope to see many of you there.
If any of you are brave enough to come north and own an extra jumper, it would be lovely to see you."
Gan canny, Lesley!

Annual General Meeting (AGM) & Xmas Meal
This year’s Xmas Meal and AGM will be held at the Royal Oak, Wootton Rivers, Marlborough, SN8 4NQ on Sunday 1st December.
The plan is to meet at the pub to start our walk at 0900hrs, led by John Walker. There is additional parking at the village hall just a few yards further on from the pub. We will return to the pub by 1230ish and, after a quick change and the opportunity to buy a drink, the meal will be served at 1330hrs. We have used this venue on several occasions and the food is excellent.
The meal costs £25 per head, however, all members who have contributed either a walk or marshaled at a checkpoint will receive a £10 subsidy towards their meal.
