Lesley will start preparing the checkpoint boxes at 0630hrs and they will be ready for collection from 0700hrs onwards. Clare and Janette will serve entrants with tea/coffee and biscuits prior to start. Once everyone has gone we will then start preparing the evening meal.

Please can checkpoint managers ensure that you bring portable tables and chairs for yourselves.  If possible please can any leftover food and drink be transported to Adreian at Checkpoint 3 at Avebury. Checkpoint managers are to either collect their boxes from the Scout Hut or nominate someone to do it. Clive has obtained a number of ‘Caution Walkers’ signs which you may find with your boxes. Please position them where you think is appropriate.

Checkpoint 1 at Knap Hill will open from 1000hrs until 1230hrs

Bruce Barclay is checkpoint manager, assisted by Olwen Rowlands, Alan Voyce, Steve Barr and Virgenie Lapendry

Checkpoint 2 at Calstone Wellington, St Mary’s Church will open from 1100hrs until 1400hrs

There will be no plastic cups provided at checkpoints.  We will be using wooden recyclable crockery and cutlery for the evening meal in a bid to keep landfill rubbish to a minimum. We have added an extra hour to the event in an attempt to attract more entrants to the 35-mile route.

Once everyone has gone through close your checkpoint.  You don’t have to wait until the official closing time.

Adrian will deliver water to your checkpoints.  You will be serving cold drinks, sandwiches, cake and savoury snacks.

NOTE:  Jen Mills from Cornwall and Devon will be sweeping from Avebury.

Thanks again to everyone who has agreed to help.

Regards
