Hi everyone

The kissing gate to commemorate Mark Rendall has been installed on Giant's Grave and it will be officially opened at 1100hrs on Saturday 1st December.

The plan is to park at Clench Common (grid reference SU183644 on OS Explorer map 157) and make our way over to Giant’s Grave (grid reference SU170633) for 1050hrs.

 

Kissing Gate Location

 

We will have a short ceremony, raise a glass to the memory of Mark, then Dorothy Rendall will untie the ribbons and unveil the plaque and be the first person through the gate. I am planning to reserve a table for lunch afterwards at the Royal Oak in Wootton Rivers.

Please let me know if you can attend the ceremony so we have enough wine for the toast and if you would like to be included in the lunch afterwards, so I know how many to reserve a table for. Lunch will be at your own expense.

I look forward to seeing many of you as possible at this event.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
